Everyone has a soap box these days.
Some scream HUSTLE HARDER! While others yell at us to stop striving… to chill out… to quit trying so hard.
Well, both of them, I think.
The older I get, the more I realize the answer to most of life’s questions is:
Life is less about formulas, and more about feel.
There’s a time to run hard and there’s a time to breathe and rest.
It all depends on what season you’re in.
We all have different giftings. Different capacities. Different speeds.
But there is one thing I know for sure..
I refuse to celebrate mediocrity.
Or living a life less than what you’re capable of.
Or sacrificing everything on the alter of ease and convenience.
It’s not good for you and it’s not good for me. It’s not how we thrive.
But I WILL celebrate trying.
And epic accomplishments.
And small, yet worthy efforts that nudge you forward an inch at a time.
I WILL celebrate learning.
And sitting in the grey.
And wrestling with the hard things.
What is a herculean effort to me might barely be worthy of your to-do list.
That’s ok. We’re all different in capacity, in capability and in confidence.
But we’re each called to our own specific passions and purpose in this life.
Finding and fulfilling those WILL require effort.
None of those things are bad.
They’re simply part of the path.
People undergoing a season of stretching and growing don’t need our condolences.
They don’t need us telling them to slow it down. To play it safe. To show up small.
They need us to call out their greatness.
To cheer them on from the sidelines.
To remind them they can do hard things.
Because during those times of growing, stretching, and pushing? That’s when we become who we are meant to be.
I want that growth for me, and I want it for you, too. <3
You got this my friend,
