I am the cake decorator at our local store. Technically, i am not allowed to take them because we sell buckets, but no one has stopped me yet. we literally THROW THEM AWAY at the end of the night. what a waste. you can imagine how many of these buckets i have in my house(i have 1, 2.5, 4, and 5 gallon). I use them for food in dry storage as well as in my pantry (thats where the 1 gal come in handy), i have summer clothes packed away in them, garden planters, i even made a cheese press out of 2 of the little ones. i have also supplied my best-gardening friend with at least 30 buckets that she will be using as planters. i think my husband will be planning an intervention if i bring any more home…..

Ah, so sad that they throw them away– but good for you for rescuing them, ha! They are good for so many uses!
