Maple Walnut Blondies with Maple Butter Sauce
  • For the Blondies:
  • 1 cup flour of your choice
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • ⅓ cup butter, melted
  • ½ cup cane sugar (or try coconut sugar, rapadura, or sucanat (like this))
  • 2 Tbs. maple syrup
  • 1 egg,
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract (learn how to make vanilla extract here)
  • ¼ cup coconut butter
  • For the Maple Butter Sauce:
  • ⅓ cup and 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 3 Tbs. cream cheese (here's an easy way to make your own)
  1. For the blondie, place all of the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir to combine.
  2. Add the wet ingredients and mix just until well combined. Overstirring will cause this to become gummy.
  3. Pour the batter into a well greased pie plate or 8x8 square dish. Use a rubber spatula to gently push the dough to the edge of the pan.
  4. Bake at 350 for 17-20 minutes
