Homestead Barn Hop #22

“Cultivating the Homestead Community”

Welcome to the 22nd edition of the Barn Hop! I so enjoy visiting your homesteads each and every Monday. Thank you to all who have made it a success so far!

You might have noticed that The Prairie Homestead has been a little quiet lately. But, that’s only because the actual homestead itself is hopping! We are eagerly waiting the arrival of our milk cow’s calf and we have been working hard to finish remodeling our barn before the end of summer. And since we apparently thought that wasn’t enough, we’ve decided to try and rebuild about 1/2 mile of fence in the next few weeks. So, our work is cut out for us! But don’t worry, once this busy season is complete, the blog will be back to it’s normal speed. :)

Just a quick reminder- please remember to link back to the Hop somewhere in your post so other homesteading folk can partcipate!

This hop is hosted by The Prairie Homestead, along with three other fantastic homesteading gals:

Amy from Homestead Revival,
Kendra from New Life on a Homestead,
and Megan from A Blossoming Homestead!

We encourage you to stop by every Monday and share your latest homesteading posts with us.
From cooking to animals to gardening, we want to hear what’s been happening at your homestead.

Some Simple Guidelines:

1. Remember to provide a link back to the Homestead Barn Hop in the post that you share. Feel free to grab the banner at the top of this post, if you would like, and use it to link back to us!

2. Please link to a specific post, not your blog’s main page.

3. If you don’t have a blog, share your latest homestead updates in a comment on this post!

4. We, the hosts of the Barn Hop, reserve the right to remove any link that we deem inappropriate or offensive. We will err on the side of caution.

Have fun, get to know some new homesteading friends, and be sure to join us every Monday!

Sounds like you are having one busy summer! Thanks for hosting.

Today I linked up a recipe for potato bread using leftover mashed potatoes. Very tasty!

I also have a giveaway running until August 13th, 2011. I’m giving away three copies of the book “Deep Nutrition: Why Your Genes Need Traditional Foods”. Traditional cooks are going to love this book. :-)

  2. Nice blog. Lots of food preservation going on here. Making pickles, canning carrots and peas, and making cheese, oh forgot the pickled eggs.
